Daily Bites Of God's Word - Part 23 - Psalm 119:23

Just as we need daily food to sustain us physically, we also need daily food from God’s Word to sustain us spiritually.

Daily Bites Of God's Word - Part 23 - Psalm 119:23

Psalm 119:23 LSB

23 Even though princes sit and talk against me,
Your slave muses on Your statutes.

The Psalmist was in a position where leaders and governors would conspire, speak against, and threaten David. We are not David. However, we do live in a world where people will act in the same manner towards us. However, David did not consider it of any real importance to him because she just kept meditating on God’s Word.

Word Study

Princes - ruler, leader, chief, official.

Sit - dwell, remain, inhabit.

Talk - to speak, declare, promise, warn, threaten.

Muses - meditates, to be reflective.

David kept his concentration on God’s Word and made every attempt to not be distracted by worldly or sinful people speaking against him. David was a sinner and did not perform any of this perfectly but it was his heart’s desire to be fully focused on God and His Word.
