Daily Bites Of God's Word Blog Series - Part 4 - Psalm 119:4
Just as we need daily food to sustain us physically, we also need daily food from God’s Word to sustain us spiritually.
4 You have commanded us,
To keep Your precepts diligently.
The word “diligently” means carefully. It’s not something you do lackadaisically, without focus, or without a centeredness on the task at hand and what you’re trying to accomplish.
Notice the relationship there. It is not we who command God or we who command each other, but it is God who commands us. He is the creator. We are his creatures. He has every right and the power to command his creatures.
The thing that God has commanded us to do is to keep His precepts diligently. It’s not just about walking in the law of the Lord. It’s not just seeking with all of our hearts. We need to do so carefully and diligently, consistently making sure that we both know what he has said and that we are following it.
So how is it in your life? Do you know the command of God? Have you studied his word, and are you keeping His commands and precepts diligently and carefully?
