Daily Bites Of God's Word Blog Series - Part 5 - Psalm 119:5
Just as we need daily food to sustain us physically, we also need daily food from God’s Word to sustain us spiritually.
5 Oh may my ways be established
To keep Your statutes!
In this verse, we’re seeing that the Psalmist wants to see his ways established not by his own thinking, not by his own directives, not by his own decree, but by the decree of God, by His precepts, His statutes, His law, His word.
That is the key difference between the unsaved and the saved. The saved are going to seek after God continually with all their heart. They’re going to want to see that their ways, their walk, and their life are patterned after God.
We should want our lives modeled, established, and made firm under the direction, the pattern, and the law of God. It is God’s, the Lord’s, Yahweh’s statutes.
Are you living life of your own accord, in your own ways and thinking? Or are you submitting to the Word of God and keeping His plan, His decree, His word, and what He has commanded us to do? Are you living a life of righteousness? Are you living a life of holiness?
